Success Story: Habiba Muhammad

Habiba Muhammad

As a renowned woman leader and local figure head in activism, Habiba is loved for her stands on the rights of women and the less privileged.

Though lucky to be previously selected to attend some few capacity building trainings on Peace and Human rights and Justice by other organizations working on Peace, CCAPAD afforded her another opportunity to add value to her life and for wider impact.

Restrained by her Fulani culture of in-exposure and Islamic values of seclusion, Habiba had to fight a home-front battle of winning the trust and confidence of her strict husband to be allowing to not only participate but accept a position of responsibility as the treasurer of the team in the G4A programme.

Having been further motivated, Habiba now goes beyond just a local woman leader in her community, to a local champion that organizes secret Peace meetings between the warring tribes of Fulani and the Irigwes in other words, the farmers and herders groups.

It is hoped that it shall metamorphosed to a wider peace and sustainable initiative.
