My name is Prince Usoji and I am the current District Head of the Rukuba Chiefdom, and a member of Traditional Council of Bassa Local Government Area. As the Traditional Ruler of one of the 3 most powerful chiefdoms in the LGA, I am naturally respected by all my subjects and the inhabitants of the residing communities.
Because of the enormous royal powers I have, I use to believe that the relationship between us and our subjects is simply put, that of Servant and Master, hence whenever cases are forwarded to my palace for settlement, I hardly allow for proper expression and digestion from parties instead, as the tradition demands, we, the rulers presumably know more than the subjects, hence we simply judge as we feel is correct, with little or no recourse to their opinions.
However, my nomination and involvement with the G4A Team as a beneficiary and team member, changed my life forever. The various trainings I had attended have added value to my being as a person and my capacity as a royalty, because today, whenever I am resolving conflict from parties, the new tips on communication and perspectives for effective resolution come to the lime light and they help improve me tremendously, hereby, making a better leader out of me.
