CCAPAD Faith for Peace (F4P) Call for Proposals on Empowering Local Groups & Communities
- Introduction
The Centre for Community Actions for Peace and Development (CCAPAD) located in Jos, Plateau State, Regional Offices in Adamawa, Lafia and other states, is a Non-Governmental, Non-profit-making Organization established in 2010 and officially registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC/IT NO 97004) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
CCAPAD had managed projects on countering Violent Extremism (Boko Haram Insurgency) in the North- Eastern Nigeria, funded by the USAID through NERI, Hate and Dangerous Speech funded by the Nexus Fund, De-radicalization projects funded by the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), Early Warning and Early Response (EWER) funded by the Global Centre on Cooperative Security-UK, Care-fronting, COVID -19 Health intervention approach with the Local Action Fund (LAF-UK) strengthening and conflict resilience among young people with the British Council etc.
CCAPAD is currently implementing a major project intervention on Farmers and Herders conflicts in the Middle belt and Countering Violent Extremism in the North East, with funding from the Bread for the world, Germany as well as strengthening Human Rights, Freedom of Religious Belief, Democracy and Livelihoods in Gombe and Nasarawa States of Nigeria in consortium of 3 partner organizations thus, Brot, CCAPAD and TEKAN PD with co-funding from the European Union (EU) and Brot on a project titled, Faith For Peace (F4P).
- Background
The Faith for Peace project is designed to contribute to strengthening democracy, freedom of religion, human rights protection, peacebuilding, and socio-economic development in Nigeria. It is designed to strengthen the capacities of community-based groups, civil society organisations, religious leaders, faith-based organisations, and government institutions to promote peace, religious tolerance, respect for human rights, and improved livelihoods, with a focus on women and youths in 6 communities in 3 Local Government Areas of Lafia, Keffi and Karu in Nasarawa state.
This 30-months intervention includes activities to improve engagement among state and non-state actors for committing to, and creating, safe spaces for constructive engagements on human rights protection and FORB particularly for women and youths through promoting collaboration and advocacy in terms of networking with civil society organisations (CSOs), community-based groups (CBOs), religious leaders, faith-based organisations, and government institutions to promote religious tolerance and respect for human rights. The action enhances capacities of the trained and established peace teams on conflict sensitivity, early warning and response mechanisms for peacebuilding, and respect for human rights. It will also increase the resilience of prosecuted or vulnerable women and youths to rebuild their lives and improve their livelihoods.
- The Call for proposals
Reference to our ongoing project titled Faith for Peace: Empowering local actors to promote peacebuilding, human rights, democracy, and religious tolerance in Nigeria, the Centre for Community Actions for Peace and Development (CCAPAD) is pleased to announce a call for proposals for local Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to implement impactful and sustainable projects addressing pressing grassroots issues in Lafia, Keffi and Karu LGAs. This initiative aims to strengthen community resilience, promote equitable development and foster inclusive growth through locally driven solutions.
CCAPAD is committed to supporting grassroots initiatives that directly address the needs and aspirations of marginalized communities while recognizing the crucial role of local NGOs in understanding and responding to the unique challenges faced in Lafia, Keffi and Karu Local Government Areas. This call for proposals seeks to identify and support innovative projects that demonstrate a strong commitment to community engagement, empowerment, and sustainable impact.
- Priority Areas:
Proposals should align with one or more of the following priority areas:
- [Priority Area 1]: Supporting the implementation of Tsangaya Reformation initiatives at community level.
- Providing technical and labour-market skills to vulnerable women, youths (including Almajiris), and persons with disabilities (PWDs).
- Supporting CSO/CBO organisational capacities related to digital technologies, internal governance, project and financial management, effectiveness, accountability, and transparency.
- Promoting advocacy and social inclusion for policy dialogue and monitoring.
- Supporting technical, research, analysis, and advocacy capacities on gender equality, women empowerment, sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), youth participation, inclusion of PWDs, conflict mediation, peacebuilding, and building community resilience to crises (including Covid-19).
- Supporting local CSO networks and platforms to promote coordination, collaboration, and exchange, including empowerment through digital technologies.
- Supporting capacities of local CSOs and CBOs improving the livelihoods of women and youths and promoting community development.
- Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be local, non-partisan, non-profit making NGOs operating within Lafia, Keffi and Karu LGAs of Nasarawa State.
- Applicant groups or organizations must be registered at the Local Government, State or National level, preferably with the Corporate Affairs Commission.
- Have at least one year of proven experience implementing projects mainstreaming social or gender inclusion, livelihood or grassroot development in one or more priority areas, prior to receiving financial support.
- Applicants must have a proven experience in implementing at least one successful community-based projects and must demonstrate good financial management and reporting capabilities.
- Applicants must have a local presence and strong relationships within the target communities with clear understanding of the target community and its needs.
- Applicants must have demonstrated experience in the proposed priority area.
- Funding Information:
- The total funding available for this call for proposals is N28,500,000.00
- Individual project grants will range from N1,890,000.00 to N7,500,000
- The project duration should not be lower than 4 months and higher than 6 months.
- Funding will be disbursed in instalments based on agreed milestones and progress reports etc.
- Proposal Requirements:
Proposals must include the following components:
- Executive Summary: A concise overview of the project, including its objectives, activities, and expected outcomes.
- Organizational Profile: Detailed information about the NGO, including its mission, vision, experience, and organizational structure.
- Project Description: A detailed description of the proposed project, including:
- Project objectives and expected outcomes
- Project activities and implementation plan
- Target beneficiaries and selection criteria
- Monitoring and evaluation plan
- Sustainability plan
- Budget: A detailed budget breakdown, including all project costs.
- Timeline: A realistic project timeline.
- Letters of Support: Letters of support from at least one organized, relevant community stakeholder.
- Registration documents: Copies of the NGO’s registration documents.
- Evaluation Criteria:
Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Relevance: Alignment with the priority areas and the needs of the target community.
- Impact: Potential for achieving significant and sustainable impact.
- Feasibility: Realistic and achievable project design and implementation plan.
- Sustainability: Strategies for ensuring the long-term sustainability of the project.
- Community Engagement: Demonstrated commitment to community participation, ownership and proven track record and capacity to implement the project effectively.
- Budget: Cost-effectiveness and efficient use of resources.
- Innovation: Creativity and originality in addressing the identified challenges.
- Submission Guidelines:
- Proposals must be submitted electronically to [ccapadinitiativesjos@gmail.com] by Wednesday, 16th April, 2025 on or before 5 pm.
- Proposals must be submitted in English Language.
- Proposals must not be more than 5-pages in Microsoft word and simple budget in either excel sheet or the MS word.
- Any submission made 5 minutes after the approved period will be termed late and automatically disqualified.
- Timeline:
- Call for Proposals Released: Wednesday 9th April, 2025.
- Deadline for Submission: Wednesday 16th April, 2025.
- Proposal Review and Selection: Thursday 17th April – Wednesday 23rd April, 2025.
- Notification of Award: Wednesday 30th April, 2025
- Project Implementation Begins: Monday 5th May, 2025.
