The project ORPHANS AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN (OVC) is an internally funded project by CCAPAD. In pursuit of our passion for sustainable peace and human development, the organization came up with the concept of Orphans and Vulnerable Children OVC project to positively impact the lives and future of the teeming orphans that have lost their parents as a result of the series of conflict experienced and other related issues in Jos North LGA of Plateau State. It’s a pilot project with a duration of nine months, currently implemented in seven out of the fourteen wards of Jos North LGA. These orphans and vulnerable children are carefully nominated/recommended by the community development association (CDAs) while CCAPAD technical team verify and authenticate the most qualified beneficiary for the relevant support based on the need of the child.

Following the remarkable success recorded on the project, CCAPAD is planning to scale the project up and allow private and corporate funding of group or individual beneficiaries. Please go to our DONATE section to contribute to this course

COMPONENT OF THE PROJECT: The project has two components

Component A: This component is aimed at providing orphan children with educational support and basic educational needs like uniforms, books, and fees which are paid termly.

Component B: This component is aimed at empowering vulnerable children with business skills, through skill acquisition training on their chosen skills. They are also provided with the minimum start-up tools to aid their apprenticeship with their trainers.

Joint Annual Feast: Joint annual feasts are organized for these children during Sallah and Christmas celebrations for the orphans and vulnerable children who usually do not enjoy such care. Here are some of our various photos during some of the activities:
