SUCCESS STORIES: MUSA SALE

Musa Sale

My name is Musa Sale, a 33-year-old Fulani, Muslim indigene from Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State. I am happily married and have been blessed with 5 children, 1 girl, 4 boys.

I am a staff of the Bassa Local Government Council Secretariat and I work in the Welfare Department of the Council.

Sometime in April 2020, I was nominated by my Department to serve as a participant in the G4A project of the CCAPAD, funded by the Bread for the World.

Ever since I joined the programme, my life continued to be better. This is because I have been personally transformed by the project.

As a Government employee working in the Welfare Department, my job schedule is basically transforming social conflict issues that emanate from the locals.

These are usually conflicts that arise from domestic fronts and Gender Based Violence, mostly on child or spouse abuse, etc. Because of the volume of these conflicts, we are almost always in a hurry to count how many we have addressed and not how well we have addressed them. And as far as I was concerned, I was doing a good job, even when some of the ‘resolved’ conflicts end up been returned back to us for further interventions.

However, after attending the series of the capacity building trainings organized by CCAPAD, my capacity in conflict management has now been resourcefully improved and in fact, my emphases Is now on the quality of our intervention and not the quantity!

Because of my new skills, I am now becoming popular with conflict parties who desire for a win- win complete resolution of their issues from our local communities.
